CHASSIDISHE STORY ON THE PARSHA
THE POWER OF TEFILLAS HASHLAH
Reb Meilich Biderman Shlita related a dramatic story:
A Baalas Teshuva was getting married, and at her wedding, wellwishers wanted to with the bride’s mother Mazel Tov. However, the bride’s mother was very bitter and full of complaints. A wedding guest approached the mother and asked her why she was so angry. This should be the happiest day of her life that she merited marrying off her daughter.
The mother replied, “How can I be happy? This is my third daughter who left my home and lifestyle and became a Baal Teshuva.
The wedding guest was curious to know how it occurred that three daughters f did teshuva.
The bride’s mother didn’t know what to answer but recalled an incident of twenty years ago when she attended a seminar for Baal Teshuva. “The seminar didn’t have any effect on me. Before we left, someone handed out a paper saying its content was a good omen of blessings and success. Since that day, I recite what says on that paper each day, though I don’t know its meaning.”
She was asked if she had the paper with her, which she did, and showed it to the guest. Now the guest understood her secret. On the sheet of paper was printed the Tefillas HaShlah Hakadosh. By saying the prayers daily, the woman merited that three of her children did teshuvah and became righteous Jews.
