The Belzer community and Jewish communities worldwide mourn the petira – passing of the Skulener Rebbe, Rav Yeshaya Yaakov Portugal zt’l of Boro Park, this past Motzei Shabbos Parshas Shoftim.

The Rebbe was known for his extraordinary tzidkus and yiras Shamayim, was a beacon of Torah, chessed, and avodas Hashem, leading his Chassidim with unwavering devotion. His profound ahavas Yirsorel and quiet humility left an incredible mark on all who had the privilage of basking in his Kedusha-holy presence.

Thousands attended the levaya in Boro Park and in Monsey, where the tzaddik was laid to rest at the Viznitzer Bais Hachaim in Monsey.
