The Belzer Rebbe’s Passionate Declaration
On Motzei Shavuos, following the “ובאו כולם טיש” in the presence of the esteemed Belzer Rebbe shlita, his gabbai, Reb Shimon Volf Klein shlita, delivered the following impassioned declaration:
In the name of the Rebbe, may he live long and be well; I have been asked to convey a critical message to all “Heimishe Yidden” (Yidden who belong):
It is widely known that the Israeli government is intensifying its efforts against Torah study, slashing essential funding intended for Lomdei Torah (Torah students) in a blatant attempt to coerce them into enlisting for army service.
Now is the moment for every Yid, without exception – whether in Eretz Yisroel (the land of Israel) or abroad – to unite and stand firm as a resilient fortress against those who seek to oppress us. We must wage battle for the sake of the Torah itself! This battle will make their schemes crumble and will thwart their malicious intentions.
The Rebbe shlita directly calls upon every Heimishe Yid to commit to supporting a Kollel Yungerman with a one-time payment of $250, which is equivalent to the monthly stipend on which a Kollel yungerman and his family rely – the very amount that is being deliberately stripped away from them by the Israeli government.
By standing steadfast and united during these turbulent times, we will demonstrate to the world that ” כל כלי יוצר עליך לא יצליח – “no weapon formed against us shall succeed” and “נצח ישראל לא ישקר – the eternal Jewwill never be defeated!”
We must keep the flame of Torah alive!
May all those who heed this proclamation merit long life, health, blessed children, abundant livelihood, and all the blessings of the Torah. Amein.
