CHASSIDISHE STORY ON THE PARSHA
Parshas Shemini

ועל פני כל הים אכבד וידם אהרן… (שמיני י:ג)
R’ Moshe Yaakov Halevi Kanner shlita from Toronto repeated an episode he heard from his father R’ Yisroel Halevi Kanner a’’h.
During WWII, when R’ Yisroel was in the Bochnia Ghetto, orphaned from both parents, R’ Yirsoel was broken and cried out his woes to the Bilgorai Rav zt’’l. It was the same time following the incident in Premishlan, when Reb Moshele zt’’l, Reb Aharon of Belz zt’’l’s eldest son, was burned by the Nazis ym’’s.
The Bilgorai Rav sympathetically responded to R’ Yisroel, trying to strengthen his resolve. “What should I tell you? Look at my brother (Reb Aharon). He’s walking around singing.”
