PROTECTION IN THE HOME – נוי סוכה

Reb Noach Langsam shlita relates that in the year תשי”ז – 1956 he spent the Yomim Noraim by Maran Reb Aharon of Belz zt”l, and after Sukkos he received an esrog that hung as “נוי סוכה” – sukkah decorations in the Sukkah of Maran Reb Aharon.  

Whilst there, he also asked for an esrog for his father, Reb Moshe Langsam z”l and for his father-in-law Reb Matisyahu Fortgang z”l and Maran gave him esrogim for them.

When he asked Maran Reb Aharon what to do with the esrog, Maran answered: “You can make ‘איינגעמאכטס’ – compote for Chamisha Asar b’Shvat, or you can put it away to serve as a protection for your home!”
