TEHILLIM ON HOSHANA RABA
It is customary to say Tehillim on Hoshana Raba eve.
Maran Reb Yehoshua of Belz zt”l, fulfilled the mitzvah of Bikur Cholim one Hoshana Raba to one of his chassidim, who was unofrtunately lying on his deathbed. The chassid told the Mittler Rav that it says in tehillim – “לא אמוט רבה” סב:ג – I will not die much, and Rashi explains that the word “רבה” refers to Gehinnom and asked his Rebbe to daven for him on “הושענה רבה” that I should be spared from Gehanim.”
When Maran left the room, he said, “Look how important it is to learn Tehillim with Rashi! It came to good use for him, Tehillim and Rashi!”
