THE AVODAH OF YOM KIPPUR

One Yom Kippur during WWI, when the Frierdiga Rav zt”l was in the city of Ratzfert (Újfehértó, Hungary), he paused for a while before saying the “סדר העבודה “ during Yom Kippur Mussaf prayers. 

After Mussaf, he explained the reason why he delayed. “In Belz, before I started davening Mussaf, I could envision the Beis Hamikdash and see the Kohen Gadol doing the Avodah and that is how I could say the Avodah.  But here in Ratzfert, I could not envision it right away, and it took a while to see that vision before I could start davening.”
