WOMEN’S TEARS

The holy Barditchever Rav zt’’l once entered the shul for tekiyas shofar and sensed that there were harsh mekatrigim—heavenly accusers—present.

Turning toward the veiber shul (the women’s section), he cried out:
“Women, shed your tears to wash the shofar!”

At once, the women burst into tears, their cries echoing through the shul. With their heartfelt weeping, the Barditchever felt the atmosphere lighten, and he was able to approach the tekiyas shofar with greater ease.
