CHASSIDISHE STORY ON THE PARSHA
פרשת עקב
Parshas Eikev
ולמדתם אותם את בניכם…(עקב יא:יט)
You shall teach them to your children…
A Yid came to the Arugas Haboshem zt”l one Erev Yom Kippur and gave a nice ‘pidyon’ (redemption money) and requested a bracha. The Arugas Haboshem asked what bracha the Yid wants. “Good children,” was the reply.
The Arugas Haboshem told him: “What do you think? Your twenty crowns will merit you good children? To be worthy of good kids, one needs to roll on the floor and shed wells of tears to be worthy for good children!”
