MIRACULOUS MILK
A wondrous day-to-day story occurred on Chanukah in the realms of the Great Belzer Shul in Eretz Yisroel. A devout Chassid, R’ Aharon Kalmen Fried shlita, oversees the “Chevra מעייני הישועה” – a service that ensures the coffee rooms in the Beis Medrash are well stocked to accommodate the throngs of Mispallalim (congregants). Especially during the days of Chanukah, when hundreds of Yeshiva Bochurim from around Eretz Yisroel spend their Chanukah days in Yerushalayim, ample food and supplies are necessary.
R’ Aharon Kalmen placed an order with Tenuva (Israel’s milk factory) for 2,000 liters of milk for Chanukah. To his great distress, Tenuva responded that there was a shortage of milk and they could only supply 300 liters.
R’ Aharon Kalmen was at a loss. And what does a chassid do? He went to the tzion of Reb Aharon of Belz zt”l, who considered the talmidim – his Yeshivas students – his own, and davened for a miracle.
On his way back from Har Hamenuchas, R’ Fried received a phone call from Tenuva. “What connections do you have with our factory’s director of sales?” the salesperson on the line asked. “My director called me this morning with orders not to cut the milk orders from a local hospital and from Belz. We will make a special delivery this afternoon for the rest of your order.” (Tenuva typically delivers early in the morning, and this delivery was an extra phenomenon, too!)
At 7:30 PM, a Tenuva truck rolled into the courtyard of the Great Belzer Shul to deliver the rest of the milk. Thousands of bochurim and Mispallalim enjoyed their warm coffees over Chanukah, thanks to the sudden abundance of milk and the miracle deliverance from Reb Aharon of Belz zt”l.
