אוי להם לבריות מעלבונה של תורה (אבות ו:ב)

A ‘Bas Kol’ – divine voice emits daily to those who disgrace the Torah.  The talmidim (students) of the Bas Ayin Zt’’l once asked him: “Why is there such a Bas Kol daily if no one hears it anyway?” 

The Bas Ayin didn’t answer them directly. Instead, he took them on a walk in the woods, where they saw two Arabs fighting and yelling at each other.  One Arab yelled at the other, “How do you not fear G-d?” This incident was a profound lesson in itself. 

The Bas Ayin exclaimed: “Did you hear that? That is the ‘Bas Kol’ emitted daily; people don’t pay attention to it.  One who pays attention to it is worthy to hear this wondrous ‘Bas Kol.’
