You should be like the students of Aharon and like peace. Why does the Mishna say הוי מתלמידיו של אהרן אוהב שלום? It would be enough if it says אוהב שלום ורודף שלום? The Mishna is telling us that if a person reaches the level of אוהב שלום… he should know that it didn’t come from his personal strength; the strength stems from Aharon HaKohan. Aharon HaKohen was on a high מדריגה – lofty level, that he was able to beseech by Hashem to grant every Yid the ability to reach a level of אוהב שלום.
