וידום אהרן… (שמיני י:ג)
And Aharon was still/soundless
Why does the pasuk refer to Aharon’s silence as וידום – versus the word ויחרוש – silent? A silent person, one can still see his feelings portrayed on his face. But someone who is a דומם – still, you can’t see his emotions.
When Aharon accepted the news of his two sons’ passings, he was a דומם – he took it with אהבה – grace; you couldn’t see any trace of sadness on him.Go back to Parshas Shemini
