ויפגע במקום (ויצא כח:יא)

The passuk teaches us that even if a Yid needs to daven for worldly things such as health, parnassah, etc., the main focus of his prayers should be for “גלות השכינה” – that Hashem is also in exile. We need His name to be proclaimed the ultimate Ruler of the universe.  Yaakov davened “ויפגע המקום” – first for גלות השכינה and then davened for his personal needs “אם יהיה אלקים עמדי ושמרני… ונתן לי לחם לאכול” – if Hashem will be with me and guard me… and give me bread to eat… ”.
