לקב אויבי לקחתיך והנה ברכת ברך…(בלק כג:יא)

The numerical value for “לקב” is 132, and the word “ברך” is equivalent to 222.  There are 222 days in the year that Tachanin is said. On these days, there is דין – judgement in this world.  And there are 132 days in the year that Tachanin isn’t said, and those days are days of רחמים – mercy.  Balak said to Bilaam: “לקוב אויבי לקחתיך” – I wanted you to curse the 132 days that they should also be days of judgment “והנה ברכת בר’’ך” – and you blessed that the 222 days should become days of רחמים – mercy.
