כה תברכו את בני ישראל (נשא ו:כג)
So shall you bless the children of IsraelIn Amsterdam, it is customary for the Kohanim to ‘duchen’ (say the priestly blessing) twenty-five times a year. The numerical value of “כה” is 25.
They used to perform Birchas Kohanim twice a day on Yom Tov (during the Shacharis and Mussaf prayers), except for Simchas Torah, which was performed only during Shacharis.
As you will see in the table below, these twenty five times a year work out as follows:
| Yom Tov | Times |
| Rosh Hashana (two days) | 4 |
| Yom Kippur | 2 |
| First days Sukkos | 4 |
| Shmini Atzeres | 2 |
| Simchas Torah | 1 |
| First days Pesach | 4 |
| Second days Pesach | 4 |
| Shavuos | 4 |
| Total times a year Kohanim blessed the Yidden | 25 |
