למען הביא ה’ על אברהם את אשר דבר עליו (וירא יח:יט)

Avraham spread the word about the greatness of Hashem to the entire world.  Hashem repaid him “מדה כנגד מדה” – a good deed for a good deed, by spreading the word to everyone about the greatness of Avraham.  As Chazal (ברכות טו) say: “אתם עשיתוני חטיבה אחת בעולם, אף אני אעשה אתכם חטיבה אחת בעולם” – Hashem tells the Yidden: you lauded me to the world that there exists no one like your G-d, so I will laud you to the world, that there is no nation like the Jewish nation!
