סורו נא אל בית עבדכם… (וירא יט:ב)

Lot told his guests: “סורו נא אל בית עבדכם” whereas Avraham told his guests: “אל נא תעבור מעל עבדך” – please do not pass over your servant. Avraham did not mention the word “בית” – home, when he hosted guests. He detached ownership from his home – making visitors feel that he was not really the “בעל הבית” – master of the house; he gave over his whole home to his guests and served them as if he were their servant.
