(שופטים יח:יח) שופטים ושוטרים תתן בכל שעריך

It says in this week’s parsha שופטים ושוטרים תתן בכל שעריך  – every person is required to place guards on all his entrances, which can also be translated to place guards on all his body parts.

The roshei teivos of שערי’’ך  is:

שניים – teeth = guard what you speak

עיניים – eyes = watch what you see

ראש – head = consider your thoughts

רגל – feet = notice where you walk

ידיים – hands = heed what you do with your hands

כרס – stomach = careful to eat Kosher
