The Travelling Chassidim Visit Hendon, London, UK

The Travelling Chassidim (A Belz initiative) were invited to the Torat Chaim Shul in Hendon, North West London.

A group of Chassidim and families from London and Westcliff spent Shabbos with the community as part of the celebrations marking the 20th anniversary of the Shul’s founding.

This was a Shabbos that the local community will not forget so quickly. In addition to the 20th anniversary jubilee, there was also Rosh Chodesh and Shabbos Shekalim, which added to the festive mood.

Adults and children alike were enthralled by the Chassidim who were dressed in their Shabbos garb and by the lively singing, dancing and animated storytelling. The children took turns wearing the shtreimels and took a keen interest in its fabled cost! 

The Carlebach Kabbalas Shabbos was led by Chazan and singer Moshe Mordechai Meislik, with uplifting singing and dancing. Shabbos morning davening with Halel was followed by a gala kiddush, which the entire community enjoyed. Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis, Chief Rabbi of the United Hebrew Congregations of the Commonwealth, attended the Davening, flanked by the Rov of the Shul, Rabbi Blau, and Rabbi Yisroel Yaacov Fine of Kinloss United Synagogue in London.

Se’udah Shelishis was attended by large numbers of Shul members, peppered with Divrei Torah, song and schmoozing, which broke down many a barrier and built many bridges between the Hendonites and Chassidim, cementing a relationship that will grow and flourish for many years to come.

Shabbos was ushered out with a musical Havdalah, led by Yaakov Klein of Eyleycho, followed with lively dancing.

As with the many other communities who have invited the TCUK for a Shabbos, the Toras Chaim Shul found their Shabbos to be an incredibly inspiring and enjoyable experience.

ERETZ YISROEL CAMPAIGN

Supporting “MerkazMosdos Belz – Belz Institutions in Israel” is highest priorities to the Belzer Rebbe shlita.  This past Motzei Shabbos, Reb Leibish Karniol shlita, a noted Rosh Kollel, stood at the dais next to the Belzer Rebbe shlita, following havdalah, and addressed the crowd of chassidim.  He discussed the current campaign and urged everyone to ‘empty their pockets’ to support Torah learning in Eretz Yisroel!

BELZER REBBE’S GABBAI FUNDRAISING IN THE U.S.

Even though we are currently celebrating Rosh Chodesh Adar, the Belzer Rebbe shlita is already focused on the upcoming Kimcha D’Pischa Campaign in preparation for Pesach. For generations, the Rebbes of Belz had personally ensured that struggling Jewish families have food for Chag HaPesach. The Rebbe’s gabbai, Reb Eliezer Wind shlita, is currently visiting New York and New Jersey to solicit renowned philanthropists and Belzer Chassidim, seeking support for this vital campaign.

With the latest inflation figures, reduced government funding and ongoing military conflicts, many who in better times have managed to survive are in dire need. The Belzer Rebbe shlita has made it his mission to raise two million dollars to provide for Bnei Torah, the families of soldiers, and the displaced.

Belz Institutions in Israel wishes Reb Eliezer Wind much success in this holy endeavor.

HONORING KOLLEL WIVES

A special event was held in Yerushalayim honoring the Kollel wives.  Distinguished Rabbanim addressed the audience, noting and applauding the incredible role of these women supporting their husband’s Torah learning.  The Belzer Rebbetzin Tlit”a presided over the event, blessing the women to the acronym of the month of שבט – that Hashem should bentch them with שמרם – ברכם – טהרם – protect, bless, and purify.  The attendees then said a few kapitlach of Tehillim together with the Rebbetzin. 

BELZER REBBE’S GRANDSON VISITS MONTREAL

Reb Elimeilich Nosson Nota Rokeach shlita, a grandson of the Belzer Rebbe shlita, visited Belzer Chassidim in Montreal this past week.  Reb Elimeilich Nosson Nota graced a fundraising dinner benefitting the Montreal Mosdos, visited the Belzer Cheder and Yeshivas, and took a tour of the Belz meat facilities in Montreal.  

A NEW YESHIVA GEDOLA IN BEIS SHEMESH – “ישיבה “ישא ברכה

Merkaz Mosdos Belz – Belz Institutions in Israel is overseeing the construction and development of a new Yeshiva Gedola in Beit Shemesh. The Yeshiva will be named after R’ Yisroel Shulem Oshry z’’l, a young Belz chassid who tragically passed away in a horrific car accident this past summer. R’ Yisroel Shulem z’’l was known for his activism, philanthropy, and kindness towards his family, friends, and the Belz community.

It is fitting to name a Yeshiva after such a noble individual who accomplished so much in his short life. The Yeshiva will be named “ישא ברכה – ישראל שלום אשרי.” Belz Institutions in Israel, together with the friends and family of R’ Yisroel Shulem, are currently fundraising for this significant project.

The Belzer Rebbe shlita reviewed the building’s plans and gave his blessings. The Rebbe also distributed “מטבע ברכה” – blessed coins to those who have already generously donated towards the construction of this new Yeshiva.

Rabbi Yehuda Kaplan

Last week, Rabbi Yehuda Kaplan, a Chassid of Chabad in Miami and a notable businessman –  one of the trusted advisers to President Trump, met with the Belzer Rebbe shlita.  Rabbi Kaplan shared his relations between the ultra-Orthodox communities in the United States and the president and his role in lobbying for his fellow brethren in America and in Eretz Yisroel.

TORAH OUTREACH

As part of Belz Institutions in Israel’s Outreach Programs a learning program was established in the Kiryat Gat Kollel between Kollel Avreichim and residents in Kiryat Gat eager to learn Torah.

L’CHAIM FOR קביעות זמן חתונה

The Belzer Rebbe shlita drank l’chaim to locking in the date of his granddaughter’s upcoming chasuna scheduled for כ”ב סיון.  Reb Aharon Mordechai Rokeach shlita, the mechutan Reb Aharon Fenster shlita and the chussen R’ Elimelach drank l’chaim together with the Belzer Rebbe shlita who wished all assembled that the chasuna should be בשעה טובה ומצלחת.
